Dr Sarah Yang Spencer is a Teaching Specialist working in the Department of Accounting. Her research focus and areas of expertise include the scholarship of teaching and learning, curriculum internationalisation, business strategy, strategic management accounting, organisational learning, management control system, and corporate governance. In her current teaching portfolio, Sarah collaborates with her accounting colleagues to incorporate case teaching method into the accounting curriculum.
Sarah is a strong advocate for developing student employability in the HE sector. Aiming to develop students’ adaptive mindset with regards to their future careers, she is hosting an industry event twice a year in her capstone program. The event focuses on the Future of Accounting, where industry practitioners and business thought leaders are invited to discuss the changing landscape in accounting. She hopes that such an event will increase the University’s industry engagement and also equip accounting students with the best chance for success.
Dr Andy Wear is a Senior Lecturer in Higher Education at the Williams Centre for Learning Advancement. He has worked in a number of Australian universities both as an academic and leading large-scale teaching and learning transformation projects.
He specialises in aesthetic learning theories, decolonising business education, curriculum and assessment design, critical and creative pedagogies, philosophy of education, as well as academic leadership and organisational development. He has published and presented in these fields both nationally and internationally.
Justin Park is a Learning Strategist with the Academic Skills Team. Before moving to Australia, Justin completed a PhD in English Language and Literature at Yale University while teaching undergraduate literature and composition subjects. Justin is interested in the role GenAI will play in knowledge production and in re-forming or re-producing cultural norms in written communication.
Timothy Lin is an Academic Skills adviser with the Academic Skills team. After completing his Master of Teaching at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, Timothy taught economics and accounting at various high schools in Australia. He is interested in the potential of GenAI in facilitating authentic and inclusive learning experiences for students.
